Minnesota School District Reaches Agreement on Preventing Gay Bullying

Two years after accusations that the stop of anti gay bulling and spate of student suicides had failed, Minnesota’s school district has agreed to sweep changes designed to prevent harassment based on sexual orientation. Monday night with the federal government, which has been investigating the district for civil right violations, and six students who had sued the district on charges that they had suffered unchecked harassment. For the agreement that has to be sign by a federal judge, the department of justice and education will monitor the district for five years.

Now they are having a debate nationwide for homosexuality and gender diversity to be discussed in schools. Conservation Christian groups, argue that singling out sexual orientation for protections or teaching tolerance of same sex marriage amounts to endorsing sinful practice and they do not want any part of it. But as for Anoka- Hennepin she stated that teacher should whole any question about sex orientation, and the teacher said that they are going to support the gay students as for the straight.
